Staff COVID-19 Vaccination Mandate Announcement 8/26/21
As a healthcare organization, we have a responsibility to protect our patients, communities and colleagues from COVID-19. The best way to do that is by requiring that everyone working for Hudson Headwaters is fully vaccinated. Hudson Headwaters approached this decision with great care and in coordination with regional partners as increasing vaccination uptake is critical to control the disease and keep healthcare organizations like ours functional.
Scientific data clearly demonstrates that the authorized COVID-19 vaccines reduce the risk of infection and dramatically reduce the risk of serious illness leading to hospitalization and death. Becoming fully vaccinated also decreases the risk of an individual spreading the disease to others.
Due to the increasing number of positive cases and an ongoing need to sustain the vital work we do as healthcare providers, the Network now requires that staff become fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. In doing so, we join our healthcare colleagues around the region and across the nation in unequivocally stating that we believe in the safety, efficacy and necessity of vaccination against COVID-19. This new policy also makes us compliant with new state emergency regulations mandating vaccines for all healthcare workers including all employees and volunteers of Federally Qualified Health Centers.
