Hudson Headwaters Partners with Albany Med’s Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine
Will Provide Specialized Service for High-Risk Pregnancies Not Previously Available in the Area
Hudson Headwaters has announced that it has partnered with Albany Med’s Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine to provide specialized outreach services for those who are considered to be experiencing a high-risk pregnancy.
“Each pregnancy has some risks, but when pregnancies fall into a category of higher risk to the mother, fetus or both, our team applies our expertise through high-quality consulting, diagnostic ultrasounds, and management to obtain the best possible outcome for patients,” said Craig Zelig, MD, chief of Albany Med’s maternal fetal medicine division. “We’re pleased to play a role in expanding much-need services to the Adirondack region.”
As with many other initiatives, Hudson Headwaters seeks to ensure access for patients through actively engaging partners with the skill set and capacity to provide services lacking for its patients in the region. Providing these services locally will help alleviate the burden of commuting to Albany several times each pregnancy.
“A key component of our mission at Hudson Headwaters is to ensure our patients and region has not only high-quality health care but access to that health care. We are thrilled with the opportunity to have partnered with the team at Albany Med’s Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine to bring such a unique service to our area, making it more convenient and comfortable for those patients who may need it,” said John Sawyer, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Hudson Headwaters.
The service will begin providing scheduled appointments September 11 at the Hudson Headwaters North Country Obstetrics & Gynecology Office at 90 South Street, Glens Falls. Services are by appointment only. Please contact your OB/GYN provider for referral information.
