Hudson Headwaters Continues to Win National Recognition
Hudson Headwaters Health Network has been named a Health Center Quality Leader by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the federal agency that oversees the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ national community health center program.
The network received a total award of $212,866, reflecting its additional achievements in the use of electronic medical records and health information technology to improve the quality of care for its patients—and its continued designation as a patient-centered medical home. This is the fourth consecutive year Hudson Headwaters has achieved similar recognition.
“We’re very pleased to be among just 21 health centers in New York that received this leadership award,” said Hudson Headwaters Chief Executive Officer Tucker Slingerland, MD. “It reflects the dedication of all of our staff—led by our healthcare providers—to ensure that everyone in our region receives the best possible care, regardless of their circumstances.”
The Health Center Quality Leader award recognizes health centers across the country who rank in the top 30 percent in clinical performance according to HRSA criteria and adjusted for population factors unique to each health center’s service area.
“Hudson Headwaters has always been on the cutting edge of healthcare,” Slingerland said. “Over the last decade, our focus has expanded from the way we care for patients in an office visit or through special programs, to embracing the opportunities provided by information technology. As a result, we’ve identified ways to improve the quality, efficiency and value of care we deliver. This award is validation of that continuing effort.”
