Hudson Headwaters has partnered with local pharmacy operators across the region. Using one of our partner pharmacies simplifies patient access to prescription medications. Additionally, patients who are eligible for our Sliding Fee Program can get reduced or no-cost prescription medications at our partner pharmacies.
Hudson Headwaters participates in a federal pharmaceutical program known as the 340B Drug Pricing Program or Safety-Net Provider Drug Program. You may not be aware of this program, but without it, the Network would not be able to make many of the investments we do in our communities.
The 340B Program was created in 1992 to enable safety-net providers like Hudson Headwaters to stretch scarce federal resources and reach more eligible patients with comprehensive services. By law, Hudson Headwaters must utilize program revenue to advance the goal of providing high-quality, affordable care to underserved populations.
The Safety-Net Provider Drug Program has helped fund the construction of our state-of-the-art health centers, the recruitment and retention of providers and employees, the addition of specialty services, the creation of new programs and our expansion into new service areas. The program is crucial for securing resources that enhance patient and community health.
